Ride Area Description:

Oakey Mountain and Moates Knob OHV Trails
http://www.fs.fed.us/conf/rec/ohv/oakey.shtml
Georgia

Length: 5.9 miles

SUITABLE FOR - Trail bikes, three-wheelers and ATV's with less than 48" axle width

This trail is near both Lake Burton and Lake Rabun. It is not a loop trail so traffic

is two-way. Some sections are steep (35% grade) and rocky. There are also many blind

curves on the trail. Consequently, this trail is rated most difficult. A legally

licensed driver should accompany under-age riders who do not have a State driver's

license.

The Oakey Mountain OHV Trail system offers a 6-site pull-in campground with tables,

lantern posts, fire rings, available water, and a toilet. Access is the same as for

the Cigarette Mountain Trailhead for the Oakey Mountain OHV Trail. Just drive to the

parking area and about 100 yards further is the campground.
Moates Knob OHV Trail

Length: 3.3 miles

SUITABLE FOR - Three and four-wheel ATV's and motorcycles

This trail is a spur trail off the Oakey Mountain OHV trail.
