Coos Bay, OR 97420
Web Address: http://www.oohva.org/ohv%20area%20pages/blueridge.html
Ride Area Description:
Site Description: The Blue Ridge Trail System encorporates gravel roads and approximately 10 miles of singletrack in a coastal ridge setting. The trails are multiple-use and many hikers, bikers, and equestrians will be encountered. Please be respectful to ensure the continued use of the area. Some of the trails in the system are closed to motorize use so be aware of closures, read signs and pick up a map which can be obtained through the Bureau of Land Management in North Bend (541-756-0100). The trails are primarily located on BLM and Coos County Forest lands. However, some sections of trail and road traverse through private land, so ride with respect.
Trail Uses & Sizes: The trails are open to Class III vehicles (motorcycles) and due to the tight and technical nature of the trails, a smaller bike is recommended.
Season: The trails are open in the late spring, summer, and fall. They are closed during the wet winter months. Call the Bureau of Land Management for trail conditions, closures, timber activity and further information.
On-Site Facilities: There are no facilities at the staging area. Coquille and Myrtle Point are under 30 minutes away. Laverne County Park has camping and picnic areas. Call Coos County Parks (541-396-3121 ext.355), Oregon State Parks (541-888-8867) and the Bureau of Land Management (541-756-0100) for camping information.
